Raquel has been a remarkable Spanish teacher. Her patience and encouraging attitude make every class enjoyable (yes, even those overflowing with grammar!), and she has a wonderful way of including everyone, no matter their level. What I’ve appreciated most is her versatility — she often reads the mood or picks up on something that comes up in class and adjusts her approach on that day to great effect. I’ve also really enjoyed how she weaves in local culture and real-life context, which makes learning feel so much more grounded. Raquel is a great teacher who we had twelve months of lessons with. She's been excellent with conversation practice and teaching me vocabulary not covered in the textbooks (tax, freelancing, childbirth). She's very friendly and knows exactly when to interject and correct your grammar when you're having a conversation. Her lessons are very interactive with listening exercises and online games. I took weekly classes with Raquel during my 3 months stay in Valencia.
I went from having forgotten most of my basics from middle school to being able to carry conversations with locals.
All of this can be attributed to Raquel who is a fantastic teacher, able to see the gaps in your learning and apply a great mixture of practice and theory.

Muchas gracias Maria y Raquel! I so enjoyed my private language lessons with Maria this week in Valencia. Maria built up my vocabulary, comprehension and speaking skills, so much so that I feel far more confident conversing in Spanish. I loved that Maria spoke Spanish to me all of the time, which gave me the chance to really feel immersed in the language (and no excuse to slip back into English!). And whilst I'm a beginner, Maria, was patient and kind in correcting me, helping me to understand sentence construction and building my vocabulary.
